Facilities
The Community Park District is home to three important buildings. Each of them is utilized in different ways, but each play an important part in the success of our park district.
Recreation Center: located at 1501 Barnsdale Rd.
This building was completed in 2006. Its current uses include a pre-school from September through May, a summer camp establishment from June through August, and a home to different programs throughout the entire year.
The Recreation Center includes a Conference Room which accomodates up to 30 people and is also where our boad meetings take place. We also have a multi-purpose room which holds up to 180 people, and can be divided in half by a soft carpet wall. Both rooms can be rented. Rental information can be found under the General Information category.
Activity Building: located at 132 Oak Ave.
This building sees most of its activity in the summer. There are early childhood programs which use the inside as a classroom. It is also the location of one of our Afternoon Antics summer camps, and holds countless games and equipment for kids to use throughout the afternoon.
Maintenance Garage: located at 845 Barnsdale Rd.
Though not used for programming, this facility is home to our maintenance staff and their equipment. Between the hours of 6:00 am and 2:30 pm, the maintenance staff is busy cutting grass, dragging fields, making repairs or plowing snow when the season calls for it. We have numerous trucks that get used daily, each red with the Community Park District logo on the side.
