Park Naming Committee
The Board of Commissioners for the Community Park District of La Grange Park recently enacted its policy for naming Park District properties. The action was prompted when William G. Yena, a former Park Board Commissioner and Park Board President, submitted a written request to rename the Park District’s maintenance facility the “Conmy – Healy Maintenance Facility”. William “Bill” Conmy was the first Park Maintenance Superintendent and Martin Healy currently holds the position.
In accordance with the park naming policy enacted in 2004, seven La Grange Park residents were selected by the Board to consider the proposal. They are Mary Anne Bettin, Chuck Gentile, Patrick Golden, Tanja Murray, Andy Myslicki, Eileen Skisak and Warren Winkler. The Committee’s responsibility is to determine whether the proposal to rename the maintenance facility sufficiently meets the policy’s criteria.
The Committee will make its recommendation to the Park Board at the Board’s next regular meeting scheduled for February 8, 2010.
